Agency4kidz Casting & Audition Safeguarding Policy

Agency4kidz Safeguarding Policy for Castings & Auditions

Reporting Concerns

Should you at any point during the casting or audition process have any safeguarding concerns, and the audition has been arranged by Agency4kidz, you agree to notify us immediately.

Online Auditions

It is increasingly common for castings and auditions to take place online (e.g. via Zoom). While Agency4kidz endeavours to safeguard and protect children in these environments, they are less controlled than face-to-face settings. Therefore, Agency4kidz has implemented the following additional safeguarding measures.

Agency4kidz will ensure for both face-to-face and online auditions:

  • Online video meetings are made as secure as possible. A licensed chaperone will be present on the call before any children join (unless a parent has been asked to attend instead) and will remain until all children have left.

  • All activities are safe, age-appropriate, and suitable to be undertaken at home without constant supervision.

  • All castings are with reputable and legitimate companies.

Parents will ensure for both face-to-face and online auditions:

  • Children have a suitable, quiet, and safe space to participate. Bedrooms should be avoided where possible.

  • Children are dressed appropriately — e.g. T-shirt with leggings/shorts, or a dance leotard if appropriate. Nightwear, crop tops, and short skirts are not permitted.

  • Parents remain within listening distance at all times. If present in the room, they should act as observers only, unless younger children require assistance.

  • The child’s full name (first and last) is displayed in the video session for quick identification.

  • The child’s camera remains on throughout, unless the casting company requests otherwise. Children must also know how to mute/unmute themselves.

  • No virtual backgrounds are used during auditions.

  • Parents understand that Agency4kidz is not responsible for home internet connectivity or security. Parents may wish to have a backup option (e.g. mobile hotspot).

  • Children under 16 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian to all auditions. For online auditions, parents must remain present until the licensed chaperone is confirmed in the call.
